Evidence Appendices That Do Not Bury the Story

Dumping raw workpapers into a PDF appendix is common and unhelpful. Directors need to know which page supports which claim, and whether the sample was judgmental or statistical.

An appendix index with finding IDs, page ranges, and a one-line description of the evidence type (reperformance, inquiry, observation, documentation) is enough for most UK mid-market boards.

Where samples are small, say so. Overstating coverage in the summary while hiding thin sampling in the appendix damages trust faster than an honest limitation note.
